WILDWOOD – Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor and Wildwood Police Chief Robert Regalbuto announce the arrest of Alexis Davis, 23, of Wildwood, for aggravated assault stemming from a stabbing that occurred in Wildwood July 10.
According to a release, on the morning of July 10, officers from Wildwood Police Department were called to the 200 block East Maple Avenue for the report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 25-year-old man, who resides in Wildwood, suffering from a stab wound to the torso. The victim was subsequently transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center where he is currently listed in stable condition.
A joint investigation by Wildwood Police Detectives and the Major Crimes Unit of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office revealed that the victim was allegedly stabbed by Davis during a dispute between both individuals. Davis was subsequently arrested and charged with aggravated assault, second degree, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, third degree, and unlawful possession of a weapon, fourth degree.
Davis was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center pending court proceedings by Judge Louis Belasco.
Prosecutor Taylor advises that individuals charged with a second degree crime are subject to a term of imprisonment of five to 10 years in the New Jersey State Prison, persons convicted of a third degree crime are subject to a term of imprisonment of three to five years, and persons convicted of a fourth degree crime are subject to a prison term of up to 18 months.

Prosecutor Taylor recognizes the efforts of all the detectives involved in this investigation that resulted in the arrest of Davis.
