WILDWOOD- On Monday, July 22nd, 2013 at approximately 2343 hours, officers from the Wildwood Police Department were in the courtyard ares of the Commissioners Court Housing Project, after receiving information a wanted person was in the area. During the search for the wanted person, officers observed a subject later identified as Josue Barrios-Rodriguez (a.k.a. Flacco) 22 yoa w/h/m of Wildwood in the courtyard. Information was received a few days prior that Barrios-Rodriguez was in possession of a handgun while in the Commissioners Court area. Upon stopping Barrios-Rodriguez for further investigation, he attempted to flee which resulted in a brief struggle. During the struggle Barrios-Rodriguez reached into his waistband with both hands removing two handguns. Officers immediately ordered Barrios-Rodriguez at gun point to drop both weapons and Barrios-Rodriguez complied with their order. He was subsequently arrested and taken into custody.
Search incident to the arrest found Barrios-Rodriguez to be in possession of distribution quantities of suspected cds Heroin, and Marijuana. The two handguns were identified as a .32 Caliber Browning, and a 9mm Ruger LC9 which was previously reported stolen from the City of Vineland. Both weapons also contained loaded magazines.
As a result, Barrios-Rodriguez was charged with the following: possession of CDS (Heroin), possession of CDS (Heroin) with intent to distribute, possession of CDS (Heroin) with intent to distribute within 500′ of certain public property, possession of CDS (Marijuana) with intent to distribute, possession of CDS (Marijuana) with intent to distribute within 500′ of certain public property, possession of a handgun without a permit (2 counts), possession of CDS (Heroin) with intent to distribute while in possession of (2) handguns, possession of Hollow Point Rounds, resisting arrest, receiving stolen property, and possession of CDS (Marijuana).
The Honorable Dorothy Incarvio-Garrabrant, Judge of the Municipal Court of the City of Wildwood authorized a warrant and set bail on all charges at $175,000.00 full cash. After processing, Barrios-Rodriguez was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional in lieu of posting the required bail.
