West Wildwood Recall Election Sits in Judge’s Hands

COURT HOUSE — A Superior Court judge has to decide whether a scheduled recall election in West Wildwood should go on or not.
According to a published report, West Wildwood Mayor Herbert Frederick, subject of the recall, is challenging the election saying that Borough Clerk Dorothy Tomlin improperly scheduled the election. Judge Raymond Batten was set to hear arguments in the case at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 5.
The recall election is set for Feb. 23 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Voters will be asked whether Frederick should be recalled or not. Regardless of that vote (yes or no), voters will also be asked to choose a successor. Herbert’s running with the slogan “Team for Responsible Government” and Chris J. Fox with “Reunite Our Family Community.”
