‘Walk Stop Leads to Weapons Arrest

This report is based on information received from law enforcement.
WILDWOOD – Two Class II Special Law Enforcement Officers assigned to the Boardwalk were approached by a concerned citizen in reference to a subject smoking suspected marijuana while walking on the Boardwalk.
According to a release, the officers stopped the subject in the 4200 block Boardwalk. The investigation led to the arrest of Dayshan Marks, 22, of Philadelphia.
Marks was found in possession of suspected controlled dangerous substance (CDS) – marijuana, and a search incident to arrest discovered a loaded 9mm Ruger handgun in his possession. The weapon was found to be loaded with prohibited hollow-point ammunition, and had the serial number defaced.
Marks was charged on warrant complaints with possession of CDS – marijuana, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, prohibited weapons and devices – defaced firearm, and prohibited weapon – hollow-point ammunition.
Marks was transported to Cape May County Correctional Center where he was detained until his bail hearing.
The individual(s) listed is/are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
