Villas Resident Faces DUI, Drug Possession and Resisting Arrest Charges

VILLAS — A Villas resident was arrested by Lower Township police on Tuesday, Nov. 11, and charged with resisting arrest, driving under the influence, careless driving and possession of marijuana.
According to a release, police were notified by a 9-1-1 call of a hit and run accident in the 200 block of Ohio Avenue here. When officers arrived to investigate at about 6 p.m., they found Shannon Decker, 20, of the 100 block of Oakdale Avenue, Villas in a vehicle.
She was charged with resisting arrest after not complying with an officer’s instructions, and becoming combative after police had determined that she was driving while intoxicated.
Police said they observed a 2006 gray, four-door Ford Focus that had struck a parked car. The driver remained on scene while other occupants fled; according to the report police were given.
When police arrived, they found Decker allegedly under the influence, and arrested her at the scene.
She was also found to possess a small amount of marijuana.
Decker was taken to police headquarters and processed. She was issued a summons and released to a responsible, ,sober adult, police reported.
