By Herald Staff

VILLAS- On October 9, at approximately 4:00 a.m. the police department received a call of a white male harassing the employees at the Villas Wawa.
As the police were responding to the Wawa, the white male left the area in a blue Honda Civic.
While the officers were checking the area of the Wawa for the Honda Civic, Middle Township Police advised that they had just had a fight in their area and a blue Honda Civic was involved and had left the scene.
Police then received a report of an erratic driver operating a blue Honda Civic in the area of Locus Avenue in the Villas.
Patrolman Robert Fessler located and stopped the Honda in the area of Texas Avenue in the Villas section of Lower Township.
Once the car was stopped Officer Fessler discovered a 17 year-old male from the Villas driving the car. The driver and sections of the interior of the car were covered in blood.
Both of the drivers’ hands had injuries that were consistent with being in a fight. Officer Fessler noticed an odor of alcohol on the driver.
During the course of the car stop the driver became extremely violent and belligerent. He began screaming obscenities, and was discovered to be in possession a substance believe to be marijuana.
The driver did not cooperate with the arrest and had to be physically restrained and placed in the back of a police car were he then kicked out the back window the police cruiser.
Upon arrival at police headquarters his violent behavior continued as he spit on an officer while being processed.
The driver was charged with driving without a license, Driving Under the Influence, possession of marijuana, criminal mischief to a police vehicle, and assault on a police officer.
He was processed and released to the care of relative.
The incident was investigated by Officer Robert Fessler, Officer Chad Fitzmaurice and Officer Jennifer Anzelone.
