Utility Pole Graffiti Investigated by Middle Police

SWAINTON – The Middle Township Police Department received a report of graffiti with a racial slur on a utility pole in a desolate area along the power lines in Swainton Jan. 31. 
According to a release, the graffiti was reported by a resident who lives in a nearby neighborhood.
The Middle Township Public Works Department was authorized by Township Committee to respond to the area after business hours to cover up the graffiti.
The incident was under investigation by the Middle Township Police Department Major Crimes Unit and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office.
If anyone has information about this incident, they should call the Middle Township Police Department at 609-465-8700 or send an anonymous tip through the Cape May County Sheriff’s Department Tip411 app.
