UPDATE: Lower Police Charge Wife With Aggravated Assault

***CLARIFICATION*** Initial reports indicated this assault to have been a stabbing. A Herald Mobile Alert was sent with initial details.
VILLAS–Lower Township Police have charged Laurie Tester, 36, with aggravated assault, assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose stemming from a domestic disturbance here at 316 E Tampa Ave., according to Sgt. Chew.
According to police, Laurie Tester struck her husband Bill Tester, 43, in the head with a hammer. Bill was subsequently air lifted to Cooper University Trauma Center in Camden by South Star Medevac.
Bill Tester is listed in stable condition at Cooper, according to Chew.
The Cape May County Prosecutors Office is being notified of the assault, according to Chew.
Laurie Tester was lodged in the Cape May County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail.
