WILDWOOD – Wildwood Police Department Detective Division concluded a two-week investigation concerning the street level sales of narcotics from a residence in the 100 block of East Leaming Avenue, located in the City of Wildwood. At approximately 10 p.m. Sept. 8, Cape May County SWAT Team, along with the Cape May County Sheriff’s Department Canine Unit, executed a court authorized search warrant at the aforementioned residence in connection to the active sales/distribution of narcotics.
As a result of the execution search warrant and subsequent search of the premise, distribution quantities of of narcotics, specifically heroin, was recovered. The narcotics were prepackaged for street level sales. Additionally, seized in connection to the investigation was Oxycodone, a schedule ll narcotic, marijuana, narcotics paraphernalia, money identified as proceeds of narcotics distribution, a defaced 9mm semi-automatic firearm and hollow point ammunition.
As a result of the investigation, Keith Cornish, 55, and Sandra Fowler, 53, both residing in the aforementioned residence, were arrested in connection to the illicit sales of narcotics. The following is a list of criminal charges filed in connection to the investigation.
Cornish was charged with possession of heroin, a crime of the third degree, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, a crime of the third degree, possession of Oxycodone, a schedule II narcotic, a crime of the third degree, possession of a weapon (firearm) for an unlawful purpose, a crime of the second degree, unlawful possession of a weapon (firearm), a crime of the second degree, possession of a prohibited weapon (defaced firearm), a crime of the fourth degree, possession of hollow point ammunition, a crime of the fourth degree, possession of a firearm in connection to narcotics distribution, a crime of the second degree, possession of marijuana, a disorderly persons offense and possession of narcotics paraphernalia, a disorderly persons offense.
Fowler was charged with possession of heroin, a crime of the third degree, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, a crime of the third degree, possession of Oxycodone, a schedule II narcotic, a crime of the third degree, possession of a weapon (firearm) for an unlawful purpose, a crime of the second degree, unlawful possession of a weapon (firearm), a crime of the second degree, possession of a prohibited weapon (defaced firearm), a crime of the fourth degree, possession of hollow point ammunition, a crime of the fourth degree, possession of a firearm in connection to narcotics distribution, a crime of the second degree, possession of marijuana, a disorderly persons offense and possession of narcotics paraphernalia, a disorderly persons offense.
Judge Dorothy Garrabrant of the Wildwood Municipal Court set bail for both Cornish and Fowler at $200,000 cash/bond no ten percent all charges. Cornish and Fowler were unable to post bail and were incarcerated at the Cape May County Correctional Center.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendants are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
