The following is based on information received from a law enforcement agency. The person(s) named is innocent unless proven otherwise in court.
WILDWOOD CREST – Heather Reece, 42, of Tazewell, Tenn. was charged by Wildwood Crest police with burglary and theft July 12.
According to a release, on that date at 1:26 a.m., police received a report of a burglary and theft that took place at a Lavender Road residence.
During their investigation, Wildwood Crest detectives were able to identify Reece as the suspect.
She was implicated in several other burglaries in surrounding towns and was arrested by Avalon police later that date.
According to an earlier release from Avalon police, Reece was found by officers asleep in a residence. She provided “numerous fake names and was found to be in possession of several stolen items,” the Avalon report stated.
Wildwood Crest detectives were able to recover most of the items that were missing from the victim’s residence with the assistance of other agencies.
Reece was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Facility.
Wildwood Crest police extended thanks to Avalon and Lower Township police departments for assisting in the recovery of items that belonged to the victim, as well as to citizens who assisted in identifying Reece.
