VILLAS – A man and a woman were arrested in Villas for the alleged distribution of methamphetamine after a home raid by the Cape May County Regional SWAT team.
The two individuals, Valerie Lear, 57, and Robert Bellemare, 51, were pressed with over 11 charges after the incident. Both were charged with a first-degree charge of “possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine” and a third-degree “money laundering” charge, according to a release from the county prosecutor’s office.
A half kilogram of methamphetamine and $17,600 in cash were seized from the Villas home, located on Bentz Ave. The search was planned with the help of several local and federal authorities, including the Gangs, Guns, and Narcotics Task Force within the local prosecutor’s office, the Lower Township Police Department, the North Wildwood Police Department, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
