Lawrence Township — On Sept. 8 at 1:15 p.m., a man broke in to a single family home in the DeCarlo Tract housing of Lawrence Township and encountered the 29-year-old woman homeowner.
As she tried to escape the house, the man grabbed her and threw her to the ground, tying her up with a cable from a video system. The intruder then searched through some items in the kitchen, heard the owner’s dogs begin to bark in the yard and left the house.
It is not believed that anything was taken, nor was the victim assaulted beyond being thrown to the ground and tied up. She was able to move to a cell phone headset and dial using voice commands to get help. A relative responded to the house, untied her and notified State Police in the Port Norris Station. The victim did not require medical attention.
On Sept. 9, a State Police composite drawing artist worked with the victim today to create a likeness of the intruder. The victim is convinced that this drawing is a very good likeness of her attacker. He is described as a light-skinned black male, short hair with a fade cut, muscular build, approximately 6-01, 210 pounds, in his early 30s.
Anyone with information on the identity of this man should call State Police in Port Norris at 856-785-0036.
