State Police Arrest Marmora PNC Bank Robber

By Herald Staff

WOODBINE – New Jersey State Police, working together with the FBI and the Egg Harbor Township Police Department arrested a man for robbing the PNC Bank in Marmora on the afternoon of July 27, 2009. John Millison, 45, of Drexel Hill, PA, was charged with two counts of robbery and placed in Cape May County Jail in default of $200,000 full cash bail.
Millison became the subject of the bank robbery investigation when Special Agent Joseph Furey of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Atlantic City Office, noticed similarities between the Marmora job and a previous robbery at the same bank on August 26, 2003, for which he arrested Millison. Working with Woodbine Station detective Michael Stewart, Agent Furey reviewed surveillance photos of the man wearing a stocking over his head and tentatively identified him as John Millison, who was released from federal prison in November of 2008.
Detectives also learned that a man fitting the same description robbed the Pathmark Pharmacy in Egg Harbor Township on the same day the Marmora bank was hit. Over the next week, State Police detectives worked with the FBI and the Egg Harbor Township police to build a case. On Tuesday, Aug 4 at 1:15 p.m., John Millison was located and arrested at a vacant home in the 200 block of North Sacremento Avenue in Ventnor, New Jersey.
No weapons were displayed during the two recent robberies. A modest amount of cash was obtained during both crimes, but no cash was recovered during the arrest.
