State Police Apprehend One Of Cape May Sheriff’s Most Wanted

BASS RIVER– State Police arrested Joseph Kelly, 20, of Villas, on Friday, March 20 on the Garden State Parkway, during a car stop, in the Somers Point area, State Police Sgt. Richard Keaser said. Kelly later escaped from the station on the Garden State Parkway, in Bass River Township at about 7:45 p.m. Friday, Keaser said.
Keaser said police were tipped off to Kelly’s location, at another house in the Villas during the night.
Lower Township police and state police arrested Kelly at 6:00 a.m., Saturday morning without incident. Kelly will face additional third degree escaping charges on top of earlier drug charges., state police said Saturday morning.
Kelly was also wanted by the Cape May County Sheriff’s Office for: Violation of probation warrant – Drug Court Warrant and Charges: Burglary, robbery and employing juvenile in commission of a crime.
Kelly was lodged in the Burlington County jail.
