ANGLESEA – Assistance from the public helped North Wildwood Police Department make two arrests related to theft and vehicle burglary June 15 in Anglesea.
Joshua Puopolo, 18, from Atco, and a Hammonton girl, 16, each turned themselves in separately at the North Wildwood Police Department headquarters after the police posted surveillance pictures on social media in an attempt to identify the two suspects.
After an investigation by detectives, with assistance from the public, the police were able to identify the pair. Police said one suspect appeared at police headquarters June 21 and the other June 22 after being contacted by detectives.
Puopolo was charged with second-degree employing a juvenile in a commission; third-degree fraudulent use of a credit card; third-degree conspiracy; and fourth-degree theft of a credit card.
Puopolo was placed on a warrant and transported to the Cape May County Correctional Facility.
The juvenile female was charged with third-degree fraudulent use of a credit card; third-degree conspiracy; and receiving stolen property, a disorderly persons offense. She was turned over to the custody of her father.
The North Wildwood Police Department wants to remind the public to always lock their vehicle doors when their vehicle is parked.
