Prosecution Rests in Wildwood Cop’s Misconduct Case

By Herald Staff

COURT HOUSE — Assistant Prosecutor Matthew D. Weintraub rested the official misconduct case against Wildwood police Sgt. David Romeo Thursday, Feb. 25.
According to the Press of Atlantic City, the defense case will not begin until Monday because the defense counsel did not expect the state to conclude so soon and none of his witnesses were available.
Romeo, 39, is charged with official misconduct, a second-degree crime, and faces as many as 10 years in prison if convicted, the Press stated.
