Police Recover Stolen Handgun, Arrest One

WILDWOOD CREST – Wildwood Crest Police were called to a motel on the 400 block East St. Paul Avenue July 31 at 10:03 a.m. on a reported theft complaint. Special Officer Sean Gartland and Sgt. Denise Holt investigated the incident.
The investigation revealed a 17-year-old juvenile, from Drums, Pa. was allegedly involved in the theft. In addition, the same juvenile was allegedly found in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun. The handgun was checked through the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) system and found to be stolen from Drums, Pa.
The juvenile was arrested and charged with possession of a handgun, possession of a defaced handgun, and theft. After processing, the juvenile was released to a parent.
