By

MARMORA – New Jersey State Police (NJSP) have charged a Bayville, N.J. man who they say stole nearly $500 worth of shrimp from a Marmora grocery store April 7.
Police used their Facebook page to ask for public assistance identifying the suspect.
A detective from Little Egg Harbor Police Department saw the post and contacted NJSP detectives to share notes on a similar investigation, according to a post on NJSP’s Facebook page May 11. They had a similar shoplifting case, which resulted in the arrest of Christopher Wells, 33. Wells was later located and interviewed by NJSP detectives. He was charged with shoplifting and released pending court.

Police believe the stolen shrimp may have been resold at a discount, and continue to investigate.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty. This report is based on information received from law enforcement.
