OCEAN CITY — On Friday, Dec. 12, 2008, Detective Stephen Schaffer was conducting routine patrols in the area of Fourth Street and West Avenue.
He observed a vehicle pass him with three occupants. The driver of the vehicle was observed not wearing his seat belt. A motor vehicle stop was conducted on the vehicle in the 700 block of West Avenue, according to a release.
Upon approaching the vehicle the officer observed the rear passenger make suspicious movements attempting to hide an item. He requested identification from all occupants of the vehicle.

A search of Tregear, after his arrest revealed that he was allegedly in possession of suspected cocaine. Tregear was taken into custody and charged on a summons for possession of controlled dangerous substance and obstructing the administration of the law.
Tregear was released following processing for the charges filed.
Detecetive Dan Lancaster assisted with the arrest and investigation.
