Police Apprehend Alleged Grocery Thief

NORTH CAPE MAY — On Tuesday, March 31 at approximately 7:30 p.m., Lower Township police received a report from the Acme supermarket, that a young woman with two small children had just left the store with a shopping cart full of groceries without paying for the items.
Detective Joseph Boyle located the woman a short time later near the McDonald’s in North Cape May, the woman still had the shopping cart and groceries in her possession.
Patrolman Ryan Hansberry arrested Brittany Holmes, 20, of the Channel Apartments in North Cape May. She was charged with shoplifting over $100 worth of groceries.
Holmes was processed and later released on a summons for appearance in Municipal Court.
