Ocean City Police Nab Three Pennsylvanians in Car Burglaries

By Herald Staff

OCEAN CITY — On May 25, at about 4 a.m., Ocean City police received a report of vehicles being entered by individuals in the 100 block Asbury Avenue.
According to police, the caller reported that he observed a white male in his vehicle. Upon approaching the subject the male was uncooperative about his actions. The victim immediately notified police and provided a physical description of that subject and other persons who were seen with the subject.
Sgt. Brian Trostle and Patrolman Anthony Fearnhead responded to the area and set up a perimeter. The officers were able to locate three subjects fitting the physical description provided by the victim. Upon approaching the subjects they were found to be in possession of property that did not belong to them. The subjects were taken into custody by officers at the scene.
Detective Sgt. Dennis Jones and Detective Stephen Sullivan conducted a follow up investigation into the in-cident. That investigation revealed that the subjects had property on them from at least five alleged vehicle bur-glary and thefts.
The officers were also able to recover other property that was apparently stolen but no victims have stepped forward to report their crime.
Arrested for the vehicle burglaries and thefts were; Paul B. Hillier, 18, of Huntingdon Valley, Pa., Jesse W. Field, 18, of North Wales, Pa. and Nicholas E. Cymbala, 19, of Maple Glen, Pa.
All were charged with burglary, theft and conspiracy.
All were charged on arrest warrants issued by Municipal Court Judge Richard Russell in the amount of $15,000 bail with a 10 percent requirement.
Ocean City police requests that any one who had their vehicle entered over the weekend to contact the depart-ment at (609) 399-9111.
