Ocean City Police Charge Three for Drugs

OCEAN CITY — On Thursday, Jan. 22, approximately 4:10 p.m., Patrolman Anthony Fearnhead, conducted a motor vehicle stop in the 300 block of 32nd Street for motor vehicle violations, with the result that three men were arrested.
The officers were able to determine that Philip Surace, 21, of Vineland, the driver, appeared to be under the influence and was placed under arrest. During the investigation a search of the motor vehicle and occupants were conducted revealing the suspected CDS and hypodermic syringes. He was subsequently charged for possession of those items, hindering apprehension and driving while intoxicated.
The other occupants, Edwina Savine, 45, of Atlantic City, and Timothy Casella, 23, of Ocean City, were also placed under arrest at the scene.
Surace and Savine were placed on arrest warrants issued by Municipal Court Judge Richard Russell in the amount of $15,000 full cash bail each.
Surace was charged with possession of CDS, heroin, hindering apprehension and possession of hypodermic syrnge.
Casella was charged with possession of CDS, heroin, on a summons and released.
Assisting with the investigation were Patrolman Robert Koob and Patrolman Jeff Doto.
