Nab Marmora Man in ‘Underage’ Internet Sex Chat

MARMORA – William Mounce, 45, of Allendale Road here was charged Jan. 2 with attempted sexual assault and attempted endangering the welfare of a child in connection with an Internet crimes investigation.
Similar charges were filed against four other men.
According to a release from the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, Mounce was one of five men who, it is alleged, had “several sexually explicit conversations with an investigator from the Computer Crimes Unit, believing the investigator to be a 14-year-old girl.”
Municipal Court H. Robert Switzer set Mounce’s bail at $25,000.
Others charged were:
Ivan Thaler, 48, of Nabb Avenue, Millville was charged Nov. 26, 2007. Superior Court Judge James E. Isman set bail at $50,000.
Louis Mozer, 42, of Tony Circle, Mantua, charged Dec. 6, 2007. Superior Court Judge Michael R. Connor set bail at $100,000.
Joseph Johnson, 20, of East Evans Boulevard was charged Dec. 7. Superior Court Judge Albert Garofalo set bail at $75,000.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Computer Crimes Unit, assisted by other law enforcement agencies, headed the investigation.
Attempted sexual assault is a crime of the second degree that carries a sentence from five to 10 years in prison upon conviction.
Attempting to endanger the welfare of a child is a third-degree crime that carries a sentence from three to five years in prison, upon conviction.
