This report is based on information received from law enforcement.
COLD SPRING – Lower Township Police Department Patrol Division responded to a call of a suspicious person possibly living on a boat at a Cold Spring marina June 1. A caller stated that they saw a white male in the area who appeared to have been living on an old boat that was stored in the boat yard.
The male subject was later identified as John W. Anninos, 40, of Williamstown, N.J. After the subsequent investigation, Anninos was found to be in possession of suspected heroin, hypodermic needles, glass pipes believed to be used for smoking crack cocaine and a glass bowl believed to be used for smoking marijuana.
Anninos was charged on a warrant for being in possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), third degree, being in possession of hypodermic needles, disorderly person’s offense, and being in possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly person’s offense.
Anninos also had three outstanding warrants out of Camden City, Washington Township and Gloucester City and was transported to the Cape May County Correctional Center.
This matter is pending court. The incident was investigated by Patrolman Nuscis of the Lower Township Police Department.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
