By Press Release

This report is based on information received from law enforcement.
AVALON – Ryan T. Abell, 21, of Gwynedd Valley, Pa. was observed by Special Officers Lerner and Bukenas of the Avalon Police Department for acting in a suspicious manner as he was seen checking door handles on several motor vehicles along Ocean Drive that were locked July 1 at 3 a.m.
In the 200 block 49th Street, Abell discovered one to be unlocked and was seen entering the vehicle and rummaging through personal belongings. He then exited the vehicle and urinated next to it.
Officers were able to contact the owner of the vehicle for which Abell entered and determined that he did not have permission to enter the motor vehicle.
Abell was charged with criminal trespass, a petty disorderly persons offense, and urinating in public, a violation of a Borough ordinance.  Abell was processed and released on a summons.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
