Kentucky Fugitive Nabbed in West Cape May

WEST CAPE MAY — Cape May Police Department arrested a Maryland man here Sept. 6 for numerous criminal offenses that arose from an alleged domestic violence incident. He was later found to be a fugitive from Kentucky.
According to a release, Patrolman Thomas Toland charged Kawann J. McGee, 21, of Baltimore, Md., with terroristic threats, aggravated assault, criminal restraint, and unlawful taking of a means of conveyance.
McGee was also charged with two counts of criminal mischief, valued at about $2,000, after he damaged a police car door by kicking a side window out and damaging the car door and later by destroying a light fixture.
On Sept. 9, Detective Doug Henderson charged McGee with being a fugitive from justice after police confirmed that McGee was wanted in Kentucky and officials there would be seeking McGee’s extradition back to Kentucky.
McGee was placed in county jail being unable to post $50,000 bail.
