COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up 12 indictments July 2.
The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance.
A certain person not to have a weapon charge can be brought against those individuals who have previously been convicted of specific felonies.
The individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
Clarence H. Carmichael
Clarence Carmichael, of Upper Township, was indicted for third-degree possession of a CDS, fentanyl, along with tampering with evidence in the fourth degree.
Patrick Otto
Patrick Otto faces two counts of third-degree theft involving the unlawful taking of a 2012 Yamaha in Stone Harbor May 29.
James E. Palmisano
James Palmisano, 39, of Villas, was indicted for resisting arrest, third degree, and aggravated assault on a police officer, fourth degree.
Paul C. Cooke
Paul Cooke was indicted for escaping from detention in Middle Township. The count was in the third degree.
Debra Moore
Debra Moore, of Middle Township, faces two counts of third-degree receiving stolen property related to two separate incidents in January, both involving the same victim.
Abdullah R. Jones
Abdullah Jones, of Ocean City, was indicted for third-degree possession of a CDS, heroin.
Jerry D. Winstin
Jerry Winstin, 25, of Burleigh, was indicted for third-degree aggravated assault in an incident that met the legal definition for domestic violence.
Robert Vanliew
Robert Vanliew, 32, of Erma, was indicted on seven counts related to an April incident in which a female victim with two young children was criminally restrained and made to fear for her life. Vanliew faces two second-degree counts for endangering the welfare of a child; three third-degree counts for possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, terroristic threats, and criminal restraint, as well as two fourth-degree counts for unlawful possession of a weapon and certain person. The weapon in question was a knife. Vanliew was convicted in 2016 for possession of a CDS.
Christopher R. Smith
Christopher Smith faces a third-degree aggravated assault indictment related to a domestic violence incident in Sea Isle City in May.
Randy L. Lewin
Randy Lewin was indicted for possession and possession with intent to distribute a CDS, heroin. Both counts were in the third degree.
Ryan M. Walsh
Ryan Walsh was indicted for fourth-degree aggravated assault on a Lower Township police officer in May.
Anthony M. Pantelione
Anthony Pantelione faces two fourth-degree counts of aggravated assault following injuries to two females caused when, according to the indictment, Pantelione was driving under the influence in Dennis Township in April.
