Indictments Filed Feb. 11

COURT HOUSE – A Cape May County grand jury handed up nine indictments Feb. 11. 
The abbreviation CDS below stands for controlled dangerous substance.   
A “certain person not to have weapons” charge can be made against an individual found in possession of a weapon, even though a previous felony conviction banned weapons possession.   
All individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
Jonathan J. Hayes, 19, of Cape May, and Louis J. Garcia, 18, of North Cape May, face a 10-count indictment with four counts in the first degree. They were indicted for two counts of first-degree robbery and two counts of first-degree employing a juvenile in the commission of a crime.  
Second-degree counts are aggravated assault, conspiracy, unlawful possession of a weapon, a handgun and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes. Two remaining counts are third-degree terroristic threats and fourth-degree aggravated assault.
Dennis C. Jones, of Upper Township, was indicted on a single count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, 7.
Jamie Hayes, 41, of Rio Grande, faces a six-count indictment for second-degree aggravated assault, along with three third-degree counts for terroristic threats, aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, a glass bottle. 
Two fourth-degree counts are also included in the indictment for unlawful possession of a weapon and certain person. Hayes was previously convicted in 2004 for possession of a CDS.
Devon L. Lee and Damon D. Lane were jointly indicted for possession of a CDS, marijuana, in the fourth degree, and possession with intent to distribute, third degree. Lee also faces an additional count for fourth-degree obstruction of the administration of law.
Jaheim McCutcheon, 18, of Atlantic City, was indicted for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, fourth degree.
Francis A. Rossett faces a third-degree count for possession of a CDS, methamphetamine, third degree.
Ernest P. McCarraher, 25, of South Seaville, was named in a nine-count indictment. McCarraher is accused of two counts of possession of a CDS, marijuana and hashish, third degree, two counts of possession with intent to distribute, one second and one third degree, second-degree possession of a weapon while committing a CDS crime, a 9 mm Beretta handgun, and third-degree money laundering. 
Also, two fourth-degree counts were included for intent to distribute drug paraphernalia and possession of a prohibited weapon, large-capacity magazines. McCarraher’s arrest was the result of a search warrant of his residence. The presence of an 8-year-old in the home led to a final count for second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
Barry L. Pfeffer was indicted for fourth-degree operating a motor vehicle under second license suspension.
Jennifer Pagano, 48, of Lower Township, faces two counts for possession with intent to distribute a CDS, fentanyl and methamphetamine, along with two counts for possession of a CDS. All counts were in the third degree.
