Four Arrested and Charged with Assaulting 63-Year-Old Woman

NORTH CAPE MAY- Lower Township Police were dispatched to the area of 15 Beachhurst Drive, North Cape May for a report of a disturbance on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 2:13 a.m. Upon police arrival several subjects were involved in an altercation, which led to charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct and disorderly household.
Further investigation was conducted by the Lower Township Police Department Detective Bureau when it was discovered the victim, a 63 year-old female suffered serious bodily injuries. As a result of the investigation conducted by Detective Mike Majane, four subjects were charged and arrested. Two subjects were charged with aggravated assault and inciting a riot and two others were charged with simple assault and inciting a riot.
Charged were Jennifer Shaw, 20, of 101 West Chestnut Road, North Wildwood, charged with aggravated assault and inciting a riot. Bail was set at $75,000 by Judge Thomas Hillegass. Cortnee Thrasher, 23, of 295 Route 47, Cape May Court House, charged with aggravated assault and inciting a riot. Bail was set at $75,000 by Judge Thomas Hillegass. Edward Shaw, 26, of 15 Beachhurst Drive, North Cape May, charged with simple assault and inciting a riot. Bail was set at $10,000 by Judge Thomas Hillegass. Joshua Shaw, 20, was arrested at 786 Route 147, North Wildwood Boulevard Cedar Spring Mobil Home Park Lot 6, and was charged with simple assault and inciting a riot. Bail was set at $10,000 by Judge Thomas Hillegass.
The four subjects failed to post bail and were incarcerated at the Cape May County Correctional Facility.
