Fight Call Results in Arrest

WILDWOOD CREST – Wildwood Crest Police were called to a motel on the 6100 block Atlantic Avenue for a reported fight in progress with weapons May 29 at 12:12 a.m.

Upon arriving, Patrol Officer Andrew Eckert encountered Hector Bargas, 18, of Paterson, N.J. holding a knife and bleeding heavily from his arm. Further investigation revealed Bargas allegedly had an argument with a relative who was also a guest at the same motel. Bargas allegedly threatened the man and while doing so broke a window of a room at the motel. Bargas was taken into custody without incident.

Subsequently, he was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center by Wildwood Crest Rescue where he was treated for his injury. The injury allegedly occurred from the broken glass.

Bargas was charged with terroristic threats, unlawful possession of a weapon, and criminal mischief. He was assessed bail of $5,000/10 percent. Bargas was released after posting the required amount. The other male relative was not injured during the altercation.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty. This report is based on information received from law enforcement.
