False Report Leads to Woman’s Arrest

This report is based on information received from law enforcement.

WILDWOOD CREST – Wildwood Crest Police Department received a 911 call May 9, around 5 p.m., from Molly Doyle, 19, alleging that her ex-boyfriend was in possession of a weapon and making threats to take his life. A relative at the ex-boyfriend’s residence immediately went outside and spoke to police and informed them that he was not suicidal and that he didn’t have a weapon. Officers on scene verified the same.

Doyle was later located at her residence in Wildwood and questioned by detectives. Doyle was found to have falsely reported the incident and was subsequently charged with making false reports to law enforcement authorities.

Doyle was processed and lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Center.

The individual(s) listed is/are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
