NORTH CAPE MAY — Lower Township police responded to a report of a theft at the Family Dollar Store here Jan. 23 at about 1 p.m.
According toa release, upon arrival, Patrolman Ryan Hansberry was told by the store’s manager that an employee had allegedly stolen money from the safe.
Upon investigation it was determined that the assistant manager, Laura Abadie, 40, of the 100 block of Tennessee Ave., Villas, had taken $200 from the safe.
She was placed under arrest for theft and transported to the police station for processing. Abadie was charged with an indictable theft offense (4th degree). Judge Birchmeieir set bail at $2,500 cash. Abadie was transferred to the county jail in lieu of bail.
