SEA ISLE CITY –– Thanks to a watchful neighbor three teens were caught in the act of an early morning burglary here over the weekend.
Sea Isle Police responded to a call of a robbery in progress approximately 2:25 a.m. Sept. 30. The neighbor who witnessed the crime stayed on the phone with dispatch until police arrived.
Police found Kevin Veit, 18, of Medford, and two juveniles, also of Medford, in the process of burglarizing a home on the 100 block of 67th Street. Officers discovered that the front door of the home had been forced open.
According to police, the suspects were caught carrying stereo equipment to their vehicle and had already put a DVD player in the trunk. Police also found drug distribution paraphernalia, including small plastic bags and an electronic scale, while searching the suspects’ vehicle.
All three were charged with burglary, theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and intent to distribute. The juveniles were released to their parents and Veit was released on a summons.
