WILDWOOD CREST – Wildwood Crest Police Department, Detective Division, was contacted by the New Jersey State Police (NJSP) Crime Scene Investigations Unit Feb. 17 in reference to evidence collected during a burglary investigation from November 2015. During that investigation, a residence on Lavender Road was burglarized and theft was committed. Wildwood Crest Police Department, Detective Division secured evidence from the scene and submitted it to the NJSP Crime Scene Unit for comparison. The evidence led to the arrest of Alex Garcia-Gonzalez, 35, of Wildwood Crest.
On Feb. 17, Garcia-Gonzalez was incarcerated on unrelated charges in Wildwood and Lower Township.
He was charged with burglary, theft, and criminal mischief for the November incident in Wildwood Crest and remained lodged with an additional bail of $40,000.
Wildwood Crest Police remind citizens to report suspicious activity and to keep their residence and vehicles secured and locked.
