The following is based on information received from a law enforcement agency. The person(s) named is innocent until proven otherwise in court.
AVALON – Two persons, asleep in a parked vehicle with the engine running, were investigated Dec. 7 at 1:54 a.m. by Special Officer Zachary Vogelei.
According to a release, aided by Patrolman Charles Hewitt, police allege that the odor of burnt marijuana was coming from the vehicle.
The vehicle’s occupants were Brendan MacFarlane, 22, of Ocean View, and Chelsea Bird, 18, of Ocean City.
Upon investigating, police found multiple items of drug paraphernalia, an amount of marijuana under 50 grams, and 12 vape pen cartridges that contained THC.
MacFarland and Bird were charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance under 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to make lawful disposition and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.
Both MacFarlane and Bird were released on a summons.
