CAPE MAY – Steven E. Tomlin, Jr., 24, of Lower Township, is being sought by the Cape May Police Department on a warrant for burglary and theft by unlawful taking.
The Cape May Police Department investigated a residential burglary and theft that occurred during the early morning hours of Saturday, Aug. 1 in the 600 block of Hughes Street in Cape May.
Officers Ken Cooper and Kara Brussell learned that an unidentified subject had entered the occupied residence at approximately 3:30 a.m. and removed over $200 in cash as well as other property belonging to the victim. Officers Cooper, Brussell and Detective Joseph Walker, based on crime scene evidence, were able to positively identify the suspect and obtain a warrant for his arrest.
Tomlin is charged with burglary, third degree offense, and theft by unlawful taking, fourth degree offense. Bail will be set once Tomlin is arrested.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
