COURT HOUSE – Larry Crocker, 23, of Green Creek was indicted by a Cape May County grand jury on charges of aggravated assault, second degree, and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, third degree, unlawful possession of a weapon, fourth degree and throwing bodily fluids, fourth degree. The indictment alleges that Crocker stabbed the victim March 24.
Middle Township police responded to a report of a man trespassing in Green Creek. Upon stopping Crocker, Sgt. Clint Stocker noticed that Crocker appeared very nervous. Subsequent checking in the area of Whispering Woods Motel revealed the victim, who had been stabbed. A weapon was recovered from Crocker. Police reported that the victim was not seriously injured.
The indictment also alleges that Crocker threw bodily fluids at Patrolman Kirk Roher of the Middle Township Police Department while the patrolman was performing his duties during the incident.
Carlo J. Alston was indicted for distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, third degree, distribution within 500 feet of public property, second degree, and distribution within 1,000 feet of school property, third degree. The grand jury charged Alston based on a March 16 incident in Wildwood.
Alston allegedly “purposely distributed” cocaine, a Schedule II drug, in a quantity of less than half an ounce. Alston distributed the drug near Fox Park and within 1,000 feet of Wildwood High School.
The grand jury indicted John B. Allen for possession of cocaine and Angelo B. Wood with distribution of cocaine. The charges stem from arrests in Avalon Feb. 14. The distribution charge against Wood involved a quantity of less than half an ounce of cocaine.
Abner C. Williams, 3rd was indicted for possession of a controlled dangerous substance, fourth degree, and with possession with intent to distribute, third degree.
Williams was arrested following a March 22 incident in Ocean City. The charges allege that Williams possessed over 50 grams of marijuana. His distribution charge therefore involves intent to distribute in a quantity over one ounce.
The individuals are only charged with the offenses and are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
