AVALON — Avalon Police have charged an Upper Township man with use of a stolen credit card following an investigation that recently concluded.
On Monday, Feb. 22, Avalon resident Stewart Friedman reported to Avalon police that his credit card was missing from his residence
Friedman reviewed his statement, which indicated charges that he did not conduct at local retail stores in Cape May County, which included several local Wawa convenience stores, Walmart in Rio Grande, and Acme Supermarket in Seaville.
Police investigated and learned that the credit card was allegedly used by James L. Testa, 24, of Petersburg.
Further nvestigation by police revealed that two warrants wereoutstanding in Cumberland County for Testa for failure to pay child support, and burglary.
Testa was eventually located at a construction site in Ocean City, and was subsequently arrested by Ocean City police.
Testa was transported to the Avalon Police Department and charged with the use of a stolen credit card.
Testa was lodged in the county jail on the outstanding warrants, and held on an additional $1,500 bail for the stolen credit card offense.
It is believed that Testa removed the credit card from the Avalon residence while he worked for a subcontractor who did work for the homeowner.
