OCEAN VIEW – Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland announced the June 19 arrest of Jacob Obrikin, 36, and Amy Genre, 39, both of Ocean View, for the distribution of methamphetamine and heroin.
According to a release, their arrests were the conclusion of an investigation by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force (GGNTF) into the distribution of methamphetamine and heroin throughout Cape May County.
On June 19, a court-authorized search warrant was executed by State Police TEAM’s Unit and the GGNTF at a residence in the 1200 block Stagecoach Road in Ocean View.
Seized during the investigation was 720 bags of suspected heroin, approximately three and one half ounces of methamphetamine, a pellet gun, and $1,276. The approximate street value for the recovered narcotics was over $15,000.
Obrikin was charged with possession of a firearm, second degree; possession of CDS (controlled dangerous substance), third degree; possession with the intent to distribute and manufacture (heroin), second degree; possession with the intent to distribute and manufacture (methamphetamine), second degree; possession with intent operating a CDS production facility, first degree; fortifying a manufacturing or distribution facility, third degree; money laundering, third degree; and possession of drug paraphernalia, fourth degree.
Obrikin was subsequently placed on a warrant and lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Center.
Genre was charged with possession of CDS, third degree; possession with the intent to distribute and manufacture (heroin), second degree; possession with the intent to distribute and manufacture (methamphetamine), second degree; possession of drug paraphernalia, fourth degree; and conspiring to engage in conduct consistent with CDS related activity, second degree.
Genre was also placed on a warrant and lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Center.
The individual(s) listed is/are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
