COURT HOUSE: (2.15) Bonnie Kozak, 54, of this community, a former Middle Township Board of Education member, postal employe and healer was killed Feb. 13 in an Atlantic County automobile accident.
Kozak died as a result of an vehicular accident on the Garden State Parkway as she traveled south.
A pickup truck in front of her spun out of control, and she struck it, police said.
Both vehicles were disabled in the left lane.
Kozak left her vehicle to speak with the driver of the truck.
A third vehicle, operated by Paramus resident Marisse B. Plaras, also lost control and hit Kozak’s vehicle which then hit Kozak and threw her into the pickup truck, and which claimed her life.
Born in here, Kozak was a lifetime resident of the county, and recent graduate of the Barbara Brennan School of Healing, and worked as a healer.
She was a former Court House Post Office employe, and in her career had also served in Cape May Point’s Post Office.
A local activist, she was involved in many groups, organizations, and causes.
She is a former, two-term member of the Middle Township Board of Education.
Kozak was also former president of the Cape May County Art League.
Surviving are her sons, Matthew and fiancee, Beth, of Bellmawr, and Aaron and wife, Dana of Williamstown; her mother, Betty Rhodes of Court House; and her friend, Randall.
Memorial services will be held Feb. 18, at 2 p.m. at Radzieta Funeral Home, 9 Hand Ave., Court House, where visitation will begin at 1 p.m.
Interment will be private.
