NORTH WILDWOOD  City of North Wildwood was advised of the court’s decision June 26 on the lawsuit pertaining to the plaintiffs’ request for injunctive relief to close portions of the North Wildwood Inlet Beach.
Judge Julio Mendez and the Superior Court of the State of New Jersey, Chancery Division, Cape May County ruled in favor of the City of North Wildwood, dismissing the case for injunctive relief and denying the plaintiffs’ request to close portions of the beach, according to a release.
Although this is a ruling in the city’s favor, and the inlet beach will stay open, city officials direct all residents, visitors and vacationers to be aware of established warning signage at entrances to the beach and along the beachfront; and only enter the water in front of lifeguards, at guarded beaches, during beach patrol hours of operation (10 a.m.–5:30 p.m.).
“The City will be forever sympathetic toward the Smith Family for the tragic loss of Bradley Smith,” stated Mayor Patrick Rosenello. “And, while the City is satisfied with the court’s decision, I advise all beach goers to pay attention to warning signage, and if a lifeguard is not on duty, do not go in the water,” said Mayor Rosenello.
