COURT HOUSE – New Jersey has 123,717 total COVID-19 cases and 7,742 deaths. Cape May County’s total has increased by four cases, making a total of 350 cases. Currently, 155 cases have recovered from COVID-19 in Cape May County, according to a May 2 release.
“It is with great sadness that we announce another life lost to this pandemic,” said Freeholder Jeff Pierson. The reported death was an 85-year-old female, from Lower Township.
“Our sympathies and thoughts go out to the family. The death of one of our community members is a reminder to us all to continue to heed the precautions associated with preventing the spread of this disease.”
“On Wednesday, April 29, 2020, Gov. Phil Murphy announced that on Saturday, May 2, 2020, state and county parks may begin to open. It is important to remember that individuals still must take precautions when out in public places. It is important to social distance, wear a cloth mask, and wash your hands frequently. Continue to do your part, so we can slow the spread,” said Kevin Thomas, Health Officer.
