Bake sale fights hunger

By On Deck Staff

The students of the DCF Regional School/Project Teach are having a bake sale, as part of Share Our Strength Great American Bake Sale, a national campaign that mobilizes Americans to end childhood hunger by holding bake sales in their communities.
The cupcake sale will feature a dozen delicious varieties: Grasshopper, Very Vanilla, Creamsicle, Fluffer Nutter, Drama Queen, and others. They are just 50 cents each.
It takes place Wednesday, June 25 from 9 a.m. – noon at DCF Regional School, 131 Crest Haven Road, Cape May Court House, next to the Veteran’s Cemetery.
The students are joining the millions of people across the country who are pledging to be a key ingredient in ending childhood hunger by holding bake sales in their communities.
Nationally, more than 12 million children at risk of hunger. Funds raised through Great American Bake Sale will be used to ensure America ‘s most vulnerable children—those living in poverty and at risk of hunger get the regular, healthy meals they need, where they live, learn and play.
