CORBIN CITY — An Ocean View man was airlifted to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center’s trauma unit in Atlantic City by South Star medevac after a July 12 crash here on Route 50 just north of the county line.
State Police identified the victim as Kevin Wilson, 34, of Ocean View.
The Upper Township Rescue Squad, Medic 9 and Tuckahoe Fire Department were dispatched to the scene around 8:40 p.m. on July 12.
According to an eyewitness on the scene, a group of four motorcycles pulled out of a bar on Route 50 and were traveling in an alleged reckless manner.
One motorcycle attempted to pass a vehicle heading northbound on Route 50 into a turn and failed to negotiate the curve.
The motorcycle left the roadway, and entered into a parking lot where he overturned, according to the witness.
The other motorcycles continued on, according to the witness, since they may not have known he crashed because he was the last motorcycle in the group.
Tuckahoe Fire Department personnel were first on the scene and reported the victim to be uncon-scious. They requested a medevac helicopter to fly.
The South Star flight crew reported that the victim was in critical condition with a closed head injury and chest trauma.
Members of the State Police Fatal Accident Investigation Unit and Crime Scene Investigation Unit were called to the scene to investigate the crash, according to Detective Brian Polige.
