DENNISVILLE — Daniel Dutton, 26, of Dennis Township was charged with driving under the influence, according to State Police.
Dutton’s Ford Focus struck a utility pole on the median between Main Street and Route 47 on Monday, Oct. 20 around 11:30 p.m. .
Dutton allegedly fled the scene, according to Sgt. Dwight Payne of Woodbine Station.
Troopers on scene investigating the accident were notified via radio that the driver had gone to Cape Regional Medical Center seeking medical attention for minor injuries, Payne said.
Dutton was chargedi with driving while intoxicated, possession of an open container of alcohol in a vehicle, failure to maintain a lane of travel, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident, by investigating Trooper John Szafransk, Payne said.
