UPDATE: Pedestrian Struck on Route 47 Dies of Injuries

RIO GRANDE –A pedestrian who was struck by a motor vehicle while crossing Route 47, has passed away from her injuries according to Middle Township police.
Police received multiple 911 calls Sat. April 28 around 11 p.m. reporting a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle in the area of the Shelton Motel, located on State Highway 47 .
Upon their arrival, police discovered that 2001 green Honda Odyssey minivan was headed westbound on State Highway 47 and had struck a pedestrian who was crossing the roadway. The vehicle was driven by Charles Woolson, 41, of Villas.
The pedestrian, Linda Allen, 52, a resident of the Shelton Motel in Rio Grande, was flown to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center via Medevac helicopter where she succumbed to her injuries Mon. April 30.
According to Middle Township police Capt. John Edwards, the preliminary investigation into the accident has revealed Woolson did not violate any traffic laws.
“No charges have been filed, and are not likely to be filed,” said Edwards.
