UPDATE: Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash in Wildwood Crest

WILDWOOD CREST – Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L Taylor and Wildwood Crest Police Chief Thomas DePaul announce the joint investigation into a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred Aug. 20, 2012, at the intersection of Heather and Ocean Avenues, Wildwood Crest.
On Mon., Aug. 20, 2012 at 10:10 a.m., the Wildwood Crest Police Department responded to the intersection of Heather and Ocean Avenues for the report of a pedestrian having been struck by a motor vehicle.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that Frank Suszynski (81 years old) of Clinton Township New Jersey, had been struck by a vehicle being operated by Nicolas Briu (23 years old) of Bronx, New York. Mr. Suszynski was airlifted to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The crash scene investigation, conducted by the Wildwood Crest Police Department and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Crash Investigation Unit, revealed that Briu was driving southbound on Ocean Avenue and Suszynski was walking eastbound on Heather Avenue. Suszynski entered the intersection of Heather and Ocean Avenues and was struck by Briu.
