By Herald Staff

BURLEIGH — A North Wildwood motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle crash Wed., Aug. 8 at 5 p.m. on Route 147, North Wildwood Boulevard.
The death was the third involving a motor vehicle within the township in the past 10 days.
According to Middle Township Police Luke Gallo, 40, of North Wildwood was eastbound on his motorcycle behind a Cadillac Escalade driven by Pamela Milano, 26, of Rio Grande.
When Milano’s vehicle swerved onto the shoulder of the highway to avoid debris in the travel lane, Gallo did likewise.
The motorcycle then struck the rear of the Escalade.
Gallo was pronounced dead at the scene.
Milano was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
Police investigation determined that both Gallo and Milano had suspended drivers’ licenses.
Milano was charged with driving while suspended while being involved in a motor vehicle crash resulting in death. That is a third-degree crime.
The crash remains under investigation.
Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact Middle Township Police Department at 465-8700.
The crash scene was investigated by Middle Township Patrol Division, Middle Township Fatal Crash Team and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office.
