TUCKAHOE – Two people were airlifted to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City following a head-on collision with a dump-truck here on Route 49.
The Upper Township Rescue Squad, Medic 8 and the Tuckahoe Fire Department were dispatched to the scene just after 5:30 p.m., on Tuesday, Aug 25.
According to state police the dump-truck driven by Anthony Adoranto, 65, of Dennis Township was making a left turn onto Route 49 from Weatherby Road when he struck a west bound sedan head-on.
The driver of the sedan suffered a head injury. The passenger sustained neck and back injuries, according to police. .
Adoranto was charged with driving while intoxicated while operating a commercial vehicle, police said.
The accident is under investigation by Trooper White and Trooper Fisher of the Woodbine station.
