Route 47 Closed After Crash, Utility Pole Down

DENNISVILLE—Route 47 was closed from Route 83 to Court House-Dennisville Road after a sedan traveling south hit a utility pole at around 7:10 p.m. on Saturday, Aug 8.
The pole was snapped with wires dangling across the roadway. The Dennis Fire Department and Belleplain Emergency Corps responded to the scene. No injuries were reported.
The fire department redirected traffic around the scene. The County Fire Police and NJ DOT were also called to the scene.
The road is expected to be closed overnight according to NJ DOT.
Troopers at the Woodbine station are investigating the crash.
